Tori Deal and Devin Walker, winners of The Challenge: Ride or Dies, have opened up about their close bond on the show and whether it could evolve into something more. Deal described Walker as her “really, really, really good friend” and praised their strong platonic relationship. While she did not reveal whether romance could be on the cards, Deal would not be the first contestant to form a relationship with a co-star on the show. Deal previously got engaged to fellow Challenge alum Jordan Wiseley in 2019, after meeting on The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30. They called off their engagement in 2020, but are set to reunite on World Championship, which begins on Wednesday.
While Deal refrained from revealing any potential romantic interests, she did hint at the possibility of future showmances. The Challenge, and other MTV reality shows, often see close relationships and hookups form as participants are thrown into close quarters with little contact with the outside world. Deal acknowledged the flirtatious atmosphere in the Challenge house, calling it “camp syndrome”, and said she was happy for anyone who is able to have a relationship on the show.
The Challenge: World Championship premieres on MTV on Wednesday, March 8, followed a day later by the US Networks ViacomCBS (Paramount+) in the US and Canada. Two episodes will be available simultaneously for streaming. The show sees past winners of The Challenge paired with winners from The Challenge: International in a new format, with a prize of $1m on offer. Deal and Wiseley are among the contestants, and Deal suggested that they are still exploring life as individuals, despite their previous relationship. She said that she has been single for over a year and is glad to be exploring life on her own terms. Deal also said that, while they have different lives, there is still a lot of love between her and Wiseley.
