Researchers from China and Austria have developed a method for coaxing particles of light to undergo opposite transformations simultaneously, behaving as if time were flowing both forwards and backwards. The flipping of time’s arrow is real or simulated in these properties, and experts claim that the phenomenon could usher in new kinds of quantum technology. The researchers believe that these circuits could be summoned where information could flow both ways, and Giulia Rubino, a researcher at the University of Bristol, stated that “anything, anytime, all at once” circuits could be developed in time. This comes as experts have recently developed photonic chips that reportedly can scale photonic circuits up and down, according to MIT Review.
