Ben Affleck Reveals Jennifer Lopez’s Favorite ‘Yellowstone’ Romance

Ben Affleck revealed in an appearance on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” that his wife Jennifer Lopez is a fan of TV show Yellowstone. Affleck explained that he was shocked about Lopez’s love for the western drama series and put it down to the romance between the characters of Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly. Hauser plays a character named Rip Wheeler in the show, while Reilly plays Beth Dutton. Affleck and Matt Damon, both of whom worked with Hauser in the past, praised Hauser’s acting skills.

Hauser’s character Rip gets married to Reilly’s Beth in the show and, after this onscreen union, Hauser said in an interview with Us Weekly that he envisaged the perfect ending for the fictional couple would be sitting together on a porch, with no intention of ever separating. Hauser’s wife, Cynthia Daniel, also praised the onscreen pairing, describing how she loved the two characters together and noting that Beth was an amazing person.

Hauser, who started out as a child actor before landing a role in School Ties alongside Affleck and Damon, has praised the series, describing Rip as a great character to play. Reviews of the show have been generally positive, with praise being given to the performances of the cast, the cinematography and the plotlines.

Yellowstone has run for four seasons so far, and a spin-off series named 1883 premiered its first episodes in December 2021. The show, which explores the origins of the Dutton family from the original series, focuses on the lives of former Texas Rangers who travel north to start a new life in Montana. 1883 has also been well received by fans and critics alike.
