Max Hardcore dead at age 66: Controversial porn star Paul Little who was jailed for his films dies after health battle

Max Hardcore, the controversial porn star known for his extreme and degrading adult film scenes, has died at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer. He died from septic shock and pneumonia after receiving radioactive iodine treatment, according to his business partner. Hardcore had a nearly three-decade career with over 500 performing credits and 360 credits as a director. His movies were often criticized for their controversial content, with some accusing the actor of participating in abusive scenes. In May 2007, he and his production company were indicted by a grand jury in Tampa, Florida, on charges of distributing obscene material through the U.S. mail. He was subsequently sentenced to 46 months in prison in 2008.

Despite this negative reception, Hardcore had a legion of supporters who believed that his jailing was an attack on free speech. “Max did it his way. He walked the line and didn’t give a f**k if he fell off of it or not,” said his office manager and business partner. He had continued working in the adult entertainment industry until his diagnosis.

Hardcore was known for pushing boundaries and participating in extreme scenes throughout his career. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in March 2022 and had been receiving chemotherapy before being admitted to the hospital for surgery. While he appeared to be improving in February after a month-long stay, he suffered an infection in his throat, leading to his death. His supporters paid tribute to a “champion of free speech” who refused to compromise his artistic vision.

However, critics argued that he glorified and normalized degrading and misogynistic behavior, leading to allegations of abuse. Feminist Julie Bindel celebrated Hardcore’s death, tweeting, “I don’t believe in evil, but the feeling I got when I was once within hearing distance of this b*** was that I was in its presence.” Hardcore is survived by his sister and two brothers.
