In the third episode of the fourth and final season of HBO’s Succession, Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) ties the knot with his fiancée Willa (Justine Lupe). However, Willa seemed to be having second thoughts about tying the knot with Connor, the oldest of Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) children. The trailer revealed that Connor was nervous about whether or not his father Logan would actually show up at the wedding. Meanwhile, Roman (Kieran Culkin) appears to be having second thoughts about re-teaming with his father Logan. In a shocking twist of events, Logan passes away on an airplane after summoning Roman to help finish a deal with Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard).
The episode begins with Roman being driven as he receives a call from Logan, who thinks Roman should come to see the suite. Roman says that it is Connor’s wedding, and he wonders if he will be going to the wedding, but Logan isn’t sure. Logan says that he is thinking about firing Gerri (J. Smith Cameron), and he asks Roman to tell her. Gerri eventually figures out that she is being let go, which upsets her.
Tom calls Roman and asks if he has told Gerri yet, but he says he hasn’t and she hasn’t arrived yet, but she’s actually there. Roman tells Gerri they should have a chat once they set sail, revealing it’s a message from Logan. Gerri realizes that she’s being let go and she’s clearly upset, stating she danced them through a thunderstorm without getting wet before storming away. Kendall arrives as they board the boat, finding Willa, who says Connor is fixated on the cake, saying it’s a looney cake.
Shiv goes and talks to Roman, who says the wedding is a sham and the death of romance. Shiv asks why they didn’t get her sooner as they discuss their dad’s condition. They go into a private room as Roman insists they don’t know that Logan has died for sure. Roman says they don’t know what really happened, and continues to deny that their father has passed away.
In conclusion, the latest episode of Succession ends on a shocking note with the sudden death of Logan Roy on an airplane. His children are left struggling to come to terms with the news and the subsequent fallout that is expected to follow. Viewers are left wondering how the remaining episodes of the series will unfold and what the future holds for the Roys.
