Nick Cannon, who already has twelve children with half a dozen mothers, has floated the idea of having a baby with Taylor Swift. The claim follows Swift’s breakup with long-term boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. “I’m all in,” said Cannon when the idea was put to him by Howard Stern on his radio show. “First of all, she’s an amazing songwriter,” said Cannon, adding that he thought the two have had “very similar” dating experiences. While he claims he has no immediate plans for more children, he dismissed suggestions he wouldn’t have any more, saying, “I don’t know”, when asked.
Nick Cannon had five new children in 2022 alone, but when Stern tested Cannon’s willingness to have more, he enthusiastically agreed, saying “that would be amazing!” Cannon’s twelve children span 11 years, and he has twin toddler boys, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, in addition to a six-year-old, a two-year-old, and 11-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The most recent addition, in April 2022, was Halo Marie.
Swift, however, currently has no children except for her cats, and Nick is openly interested in recruiting a publicly famous partner to help him expand his brood. This might be a stretch since the pair have never been romantically involved, nor have they publicly interacted. Cannon’s comments could be seen as an insensitive joke, particularly because Swift has frequently been subjected to comments regarding her dating history and public relationships.
Nick Cannon’s comments on the Stern show are just one example of him using his platform to say or invite others to say, foolish or harmful things. In the past, he’s had to apologise for harmful speech, particularly regarding certain comments he made about Jewish people. Cannon, however, has made it clear that he considers fatherhood a key part of his life.
Overall, Nick Cannon’s comments about recruiting Taylor Swift to help him expand his already large family might not come to anything, particularly as it’s unclear whether Swift knows about Cannon’s invitation. Swift is also understood to value her privacy and has been notably private about her relationships in the past.
