Debbie and Oussama have an age gap of over 40 years, and so Debbie addresses the issue, explaining that they didn’t focus on each other’s age, rather, they bonded over art forms like poetry and painting. Oussama echoes this sentiment, partially translating in Arabic and explaining how they bonded through shared appreciation for art. Oussama’s father seems very welcoming and approving of Debbie, saying that age gaps shouldn’t matter if people have things in common, are like-minded and understand each other.

As the show progresses, it’s evident that the family shares laughs over the inherent comedy of the situation. Debbie admits she feels ‘headed in the right direction now.’
