Jenelle Evans’ ex-boyfriend and father of her son, Andrew Lewis, has called for her to allow him to meet his son, Jace, who Evans now has full custody of. Lewis has not seen Jace since he was six months old, and has claimed that his family have encouraged him to reconnect with the teenager. “Let me see Jace,” Lewis said during an interview with The Sun. “My cousin, my nephew, my niece, my sister. You know. Just let me see Jace… [I] want to be a part of [Jace’s] life.”
Evans, who shares two other children with other partners, previously revealed that Lewis had signed away his custody. However, Lewis has claimed that he has attempted to connect with his son over the years, but to no avail. “He never comes to see his son though he still calls and says he wants to,” Evans said in her 2017 memoir, Read Between the Lines. “It just never happens… I don’t know if he will ever be in his son’s life again.”
Lewis urged Evans to “fall the f–k down to reality,” telling her “That’s where I’ve been. You have not.” The comments came just a month after Jenelle obtained custody of Jace, who had previously been living with Evans’ mother.
Evans rose to fame on MTV reality show Teen Mom 2, which chronicled her journey as a young mother. The show has been criticised for its portrayal of the cast members, with some accusing it of glamorising teenage pregnancy. Teen Mom 2 ended in 2021 after nine seasons, but spinoff Teen Mom OG is still airing.
In recent years, Evans has been dogged by controversy, including her husband David Eason frequently making homophobic and transphobic statements, and Evans’ own arrest for possession of a controlled substance. Despite this, the reality star has remained a popular figure among fans of the franchise, with paparazzi frequently spotted outside her house.
