Microsoft has proposed a series of regulations for artificial intelligence (AI), including requirements that systems used in critical infrastructure be fully stoppable and that content created by AI carry a special label. The firm also called for laws to determine when additional legal obligations apply, and for the designating of certain AI systems used in critical infrastructure as high risk, with a requirement for a safety brake. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, which counts Microsoft as an investor, recently called for government regulation of AI. ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, and similar products, have also raised concerns about creating fake news.
